A village primary school will now be led by two ex-pupils after a leadership restructure.
Pupils at Steeple Bumpstead Primary School will be starting the new year with two heads of school after Hayley Ahlquist joined existing head, Luke Howden.
The appointment marks a full-circle moment for the duo, as both Mr Howden and Mrs Ahlquist are former pupils who began their education in the very same classrooms they now lead.
Mrs Ahlquist, who joins after fulfilling the same role at Kedington Primary Academy, said: “Returning to Steeple Bumpstead Primary School in this leadership role is an absolute privilege.
“I know how important the school is in the local community and I am excited to work closely with Luke, our dedicated staff and our wonderful families to ensure our school offers the best possible environment for every child.”
Mr Howden added: “I am thrilled to welcome Hayley alongside me as co-head of school. As former pupils, we both share a deep and personal connection to this school.
“Expanding our leadership team allows us to both enhance our high standards and continue inspiring our pupils every day.”
